Acknowledgement of Country
The Connection Arts Space Gallery is located at 1 Walker Street, Dandenong, on the unceded lands of the Woi-Wurrung and Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation.

We acknowledge and pay respect to the Traditional Custodians and Elders – Past and present of the Kulin Nation on which we connect and create.

Connection Arts Space recognises Aboriginal connection to material and creative practice on these lands for more than 60,000 years and First Nation peoples’ enduring presence and knowledge that continues to nurture the Land, Water and Space we share.

In 2026 we have an exciting new project and approach. To get involved and support our projects please see the opportunities below.

CAS is seeking members for its governing Board to provide leadership, direction, and governance.

We are looking for members who are:

  • Passionate about the arts, community, and the South East
  • Interested in developing a testing ground for young people to explore leadership, their art practices, and community building.

This is a voluntary role with minimum 3 years commitment through an attendance of bi-monthly meetings.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Larra [board@connectionartsspace.org] and/or Nyalat [hr@connectionartsspace.org] should you have any further enquiries.

Our core learnings forming the CAS Board:

  1. Representation matters
    • We learned our members wanted the Board to be reflective of the community’s collective and intersectional lived experiences.
    • Diversity strengthens CAS’s ability to adapt and respond more effectively to the challenges it faces.
  2. Build a holistic ecosystem that supports the growth of CAS
    • Build and implement a foundation that can support the Board’s development and success.
    • Mentorship: leaders supporting emerging leaders.
  3. Align the Board with CAS
    • The Board and CAS need to exist in a shared ecosystem.
    • Through working together, the Board can help CAS continue delivering important projects while fostering innovation.

Why should you volunteer?

  1. Contribute to the arts community in City of Greater Dandenong
  2. Gain real experience in your field
  3. Expand your network of creative people and professionals
  4. Be part of a team that supports each other to be our best selves
