Diploma of Visual Arts, Victoria University

Mehdi is an artist and is originally from Afghanistan. His pursuit of art has enabled him to connect with others and exhibit his workout through Australia. He was previously in management roles at the Reject Shop and Lincraft. His vision for CAS was to provide opportunities for others in his community through art.

Role within C.A.S.:

Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) and Bachelor of Visual Arts, Monash University

Gen is an artist and social researcher. She’s passionate about arts education and strengthening cultural connections through art. As a white Australian, she hopes to contribute to critical discussions about privilege and cultural rights. Gen is currently studying Contemporary Pacific Arts at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji, as a New Colombo Plan 2017 Scholar.


Andrew Duong
Role within C.A.S.:

Bachelor of Business (Marketing) & Bachelor of Fine Art Honours (Painting), Monash University

Andrew is a Melbourne based artist and is the Marketing & Recruitment Officer at OzChild. He has worked with youth for over 8 years in different arts and sports programs.  Andrew believes that art can connect people to each other, ideas and important issues. Through CAS he hopes to create a platform for others to express themselves creatively.


Natalie Artis

Role within C.A.S:

Executive Director of Services and Marketing


Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Masters of Arts Management

Passionate about pursuing equality of creative expression for all, Natalie is greatly enamoured with the world of community arts and community cultural development, believing that celebrating both community and creative expression is the key to our future.

Natalie believes that she will somehow be a part of a positive change that unlocks a future of true human equality beyond capitalism, that truly values and celebrates creative expression – though she has no idea how she is going to achieve this yet.

Natalie is currently living, facilitating, meditating, resisting, creating, and attempting to be an adult in the suburbs of Naarm (Melbourne).


Ainslie Peverell
Role within C.A.S.:
Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art)

Raised in South East Gippsland Ainslie is an Interior Decorator and has been making experimental Art for over 10 years, she is influenced by Guy Bourdin, Maurizio Cattelan, Yoko Ono and Brett Whiteley.  Ainslie likes to collect local Art while travelling on holidays; and so far, her favourite film is, The Great Beauty.


Tahlia Megele
Role within C.A.S.:
Workshop Coordinator

Bachelor of Visual Arts and Bachelor of Education, Monash University

“I write the outlines for workshops with CAS and coordinate programs within schools and the community. My background in education helps me to create relevant and meaningful content. I have loved art from a young age and enjoy working with sculptural mediums in my own practice.”

Role within C.A.S.:
Treasurer / Financial Wizard – As a committee member of C.A.S I oversee the financial management of the organisation, as well as manage a team of finance minions.

Completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psych), Cert III and IV Bookkeeping
